Great Baked Turkey Legs
This is another of those easy one dish recipes that I like. Turkey legs are an inexpensive and tasty meal that is very good the next day, too. Because these legs can be quite large, I usually look for two medium to small sized legs. I think the smaller ones are more tender and are easier to serve. 2 small turkey legs 2 cloves garlic 1 large onion sliced 2 cut up carrots 1 teaspoon paprika ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon fresh pepper or more if you wish ½ teaspoon basil flakes 1 tablespoon olive oil Pour olive oil on the bottom of a baking pan Cut the garlic into slivers and force these under the skin of the turkey legs. Place the legs in the baking pan and cover with sliced onion and cut up carrots. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, pepper and basil Cover with aluminum foil and bake for two hours at 350 F Let the turkey remain in the pan for about ten minutes before removing the foil. The meat should be very soft and tender. If the legs are very large, the meat can be separated and served to two or more people. If they are small, this is enough for two people or two meals. |
